Good news from Cheviot St John –

Cheviot St John has had an incredibly successful year raising funds for the upgrading of the Cheviot St John station.

St John Cheviot Area Committee chairman Jane Maxwell says that the hard work of many varied individuals over the past 12 months has paid off, and she pays tribute to the generosity of several groups and individuals who have been particularly helpful this past year.

Next year, Ellis and Sanna Emmett, although having made a substantial personal contribution to the building fund, now wish to sponsor the visit of inspirational speaker Tony Christiansen, and Cheviot St John will benefit.

Mrs Maxwell says the Cheviot Area Fundraising Committee has raised over three quarters of the funds needed ($350,000) for the renovation of the Cheviot St John station and tenders are now being called for the construction. “We are extremely grateful for all the help that we have received so far for this project.”

St John acknowledges significant contribution

Cheviot St John is fundraising for necessary improvements to its Ambulance building in Cheviot, and acknowledges the significant contribution made by Ellis and Sanna Emmett of Cheviot to our organization.

Firstly Ellis and Sanna have come forward with a generous monetary donation to the building upgrade appeal.

In addition, Ellis and Sanna are organizing and sponsoring a visit to Cheviot by Tony Christiansen, a well known international inspirational speaker, for a speaking engagement.

As Cheviot Area School is their other main interest, their aim for the function is to have the school children present as well as members of the community. All proceeds from the door sales for the event will be donated to the St John appeal, with Ellis and Sanna covering all expenses of Tony’s visit and fee.

The support these two young people have offered to Cheviot St John by their actions indicated a wonderful commitment to their local community, and we are grateful to them for this.
