Ellis & Sanna Emmett Commended for Local Fundraising Involvement

Published on Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011, under Media

Hurunui News –
23 February 2008 –

Renovations to Cheviot St. John’s facilities are underway, thanks to a huge fundraising effort by the community.

The $350,000 project is expected to take two to three months. The final fundraising effort – to raise the amount needed to complete the internal work – is being planned for April.

Locals Ellis & Sanna Emmett have sponsored a guest speaker to come to the town.

Top sportsman who has won 12 gold medals, holds a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is a qualified surf lifesaver with 33 rescues to his name, Tony Christiansen is a highly regarded inspirational speaker, who lost both his legs at the age of nine.

“The thing about dreams is, quite often you are the only one who can see them!”
